The account has many different names ( now Facebook Business Portfolio! ), which can be confusing and cause a lot of misunderstanding. The industry typically calls it Facebook Business Manager, customers typically call it Meta Suite , but when assigning access and setting security settings, it’s just one interface from different perspectives, even if it’s not clear at first glance.

Meta Business Suite focuses on customer relationship elements , where you can schedule posts, view page statistics and manage chat messages and comments on both Facebook and Instagram.

Facebook Business Manager (Business Portfolio) focuses more on administrative settings , such as managing ad campaigns, user permissions and access to assets such as pages, catalogs, Facebook datasets and ad accounts.
But the two acounts have become so integrated that there are times when one suddenly switches to the other. For example, if you were to schedule posts in the Facebook Business Manager, you will immediately find yourself in Suite.
Switch between Facebook Business Manager and Meta Business Suite account
Now that we have established that the two interfaces are the same, we will also show you how to easily switch between the two. On the Business Manager platform, open the hamburger menu button, and Meta Business Suite menu can be seen in the upper right corner.

Switch between Facebook Business Manager and Meta Business Suite. Meta Business Suite can be accessed from the hamburger menu button above the main menu.
On the way back, you can open the Help menu at the bottom of the Suite menu bar and click to open the Business Manager.

In Meta Business Suite, you can re-access Business Manager by clicking the Help button at the bottom of the main menu.
For the sake of simplicity, we will call it Facebook Business Manager from now on, but the process can be copied to Meta Business Suite. Facebook Business Manager account therefore allows you to manage all elements of your business on Facebook and Instagram from one place. It offers a variety of tools that facilitate the management of your company’s social presence and secure digital collaboration with your own colleagues and external partners. Proper account structure and compliance with security regulations is a must.
Business Manager account security
One of the biggest weaknesses of Business Manager is its direct connection to your personal Facebook profile. That is why it is extremely important that your Facebook account is protected. For security, it is important to set up two-factor authentication (2FA). 2FA prevents unauthorized access to your Business Manager even if your personal Facebook page has been hacked. You can use many tools for this, but the most secure is the application, which generates a new code every few seconds. But before we set this up, let’s clarify first who has access to your platforms.
Assigning and withdrawing access rights
The most important menu item in Facebook Business Manager is Users . You can access it by clicking the Settings wheel on both BM and Suite. You can easily set who has what level of rights and for what element within the People, Partners menu items.

Setting user permissions in Facebook Business Manager
Add colleagues and external partners (if they have their own Business Manager) and set who can access different accounts and data at which level. When you remove someone, make sure that all access is revoked. The System users menu is only relevant if the Business Manager has a system to be shared (e.g. application).
Setting up a 2-factor authentication
Using the Google Authenticator app, you can easily set up two-factor authentication:
-
- Download the application .
- Click on the Facebook security settings link.
- or through your Facebook profile to Account Center / Password and security / Two-factor authentication and select your Facebook page.
- Go through the instructions.
Facebook Security Center regulations – what else should we pay attention to?
Security is essential to protect your account. This should be an important focus point, even with two-factor authentication in place:
- Do not have more than three administrators with full access. But two are definitely recommended in case one of the members cannot access the account.
- The CEO, operations manager, finance or marketing director should be the administrator instead of an employee, since this position can see sensitive data and even take over the company’s social channels (long live the super colleagues who would not do this under any circumstances).
- The other side of the coin: employees (and partners with Business Manager) should only gain access to those platforms and at the level that is necessary for their work.
- If one of the administrators has to be an employee, it is important to establish a protocol regarding what steps to take if an employee with full access leaves the company.
- Two-factor authentication in the Security Center should be set only for administrators or for everyone. It is of course the safest to have it set for everyone.

Facebook Business Manager – Turn on two-factor authentication in Security Center
- In addition to two-factor authentication, it is important for everyone to check their private Facebook profile and, if it is missing, go through the process of confirming their identity.
- When we start advertising and Facebook activates the option (unfortunately, we don’t have a say in this), you can also verify the company in this here. This will definitely require company data and documents and often our flexibility and patience. It is worth enlisting the help of a professional you trust, as it can speed up the process.

Facebook Business Manager – Security Center Company Authentication
Summary
Whatever you call it, a well-configured Facebook Business Manager is the base of a successful and secure collaboration. It is important to take a little extra time for this as we can save ourselves a lot of headaches if we understand the system and see who gets access to our own Meta-verse.
We may already be using two-factor authentication to protect other platforms. It’s time to set it up where, in addition to our bank data, our corporate channels and years of work is stored.
